Celebrating Children at Church To our parishioners:
Children are members of this community, a reminder that our Parish is alive and growing.
The way we welcome children in Church directly affects the way they respond to the church, to God, and to one another.
Let families know that they are at home in this house of worship
To our parents:
Relax! God put the wiggle in children. Don’t feel you have to suppress it in God’s house.
All are welcome.
Sit towards the front where it is easier for children to see.
Quietly explain the parts of the Mass
Sing the hymns, pray and voice the responses. Children learn liturgical behavior by imitating you.
If you leave Mass with your child, feel free to do so, but please come back. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me.”
The nursery is open and available during the Sunday Masses. If a volunteer is present you may leave your child with them, if not, you may stay with your child and use it for as long as needed.
Please welcome our children and give a smile of encouragement to their parents.
The Nursery / Pre-K Classroom The Nursery is open during all masses. Parents and their children are welcome make use of the space as a good place for restless young ones. Please note that since the pandemic we have not had volunteers staff the nursery for childcare so parents must accompany and supervise their children.
The nursery has a changing station, child sized bathroom, snacks, toys, TV and movies. We have a TV on which we broadcast the Mass from our YouTube channel so parents can engage in the Mass as much as possible. We also have 2 rocking chairs and a comfortable area available for nursing mothers. We tend to keep the door closed so our mobile little ones don't run out, but please come in and see what the nursery has to offer for you and your growing family!
